Smashbox Photofinish
Probably one of my all time favourite primers. It smooths out the skin, fills in fine lines and pores, creating the perfect canvas to work on.

Cover FX Mattifying Primer with Anti-Acne Treatment
formally ClearPrep FX
This is the gel primer I use on clients with acne prone, sensitive, and/or oily skin. It’s water resistant and because it’s matte, works well for oil control. It separates a bit, so it needs a shake or two before use.

Makeup Forever HD Foundation
This is the only foundation I carry in my professional kit. There are 26 shades to choose from, ranging from cool-to-neutral-to-warm. A little goes a long way to even out skin tone and for a natural looking finish.

Marcelle BB Cream
For my clients that want a little less coverage, I use this BB Cream. It is, hands down, my favourite one on the market. It’s so creamy, blends seamlessly into the skin, and leaves a gorgeous dewy finish. The only downfall is that it’s available in 3 shades- Light to Medium, Medium to Dark, Dark to Darker.

L’Oreal True Match Foundation
If you’re building your kit on a budget, I suggest checking out this foundation. It’s available in 18 shades, ranging from cool-to-neutral-to-warm. It’s a buildable coverage and so blendable.

Which formula were you using?
Kathy Smith-Woodcock
Hi, I am a fan of the Cover FX eye primer as it is like a moisturizer/primer in one. Good for fine lines as hard to use eye cream b4 makeup. Just replaced my tube and now all Cover FX primers are 50% off at Shoppers this week. I just got a new primer for my face, is it worth buying one of theirs as cost is unbelievable, never seen it go on sale. Thought you might like to know also

Hey Kathy!
What I like about the CoverFX primer is that it’s a 2-in-1 multipurpose kind of primer. The one listed here is really great for acne, you could even use it as a spot treatment. Is it worth it? If you’ve got acneic skin, I’d say give it a shot.
