Eyebrows are so important to your face, you may not even realize it.
Think about it, what is the most distinguishing feature on ones face? If you answered eyes, you’re right. Now, what frames our eyes? If you answered eyebrows, you’re right again.
You want your eyebrows to support your eyes, not be the main attraction. When shaping your eyebrows, take your faceshape into consideration.
If your face is long, your eyebrows should be thick & straight-arched.
If you have a short face, your eyebrows should be thin and higher arches.
If your face is round, medium-thick eyebrows with a high arch will slim out your face.
If you’ve got an oval face, shorter eyebrows will make your face appear wider. A heart-shaped face can support any eyebrow shape (excluding straight eyebrows).
If your face is square, avoid flat eyebrows and dramatically high arches.

Here are some tips to maintain those unruly or sparse eyebrows.
- To define your arch, comb your eyebrow hairs down. With an eyebrow pencil, outline the top of your eyebrow. Next, comb your eyebrow hairs up and outline the bottom of your eyebrow with concealer. Comb your eyebrows back into place & apply a brow gel (like this one)
- If your eyebrow hairs are too long, brush your hair up and, with a tiny scissor, trim the hairs that are too long. Then, brush the hair down and trim the hairs again. Brush your hairs into place and check again.
- To fill in sparse eyebrows, brush your eyebrow hairs into place (the direction of growth) and fill in any patches with eyebrow shadow/pencil or eyeshadow that matches the color of your eyebrow hairs. Apply a brow gel.
- To rebuild your brows, because you plucked too much, use a brow stencil and soften the edges with a Q-Tip. Otherwise, comb your brow hairs into place and decide how much you need to fill in. Start at the arch and apply your color with short strokes (in the direction of hair growth).
