A couple of weeks ago, I attended the opening of Studio Fontana (400 Welling St W, Toronto). This event brought together each world of creativity. From makeup and hair artists, to photographers, to fashionistas, and bloggers, alike.
Oddly enough, it’s not very often that the worlds of beauty and fashion collide.

This is exactly what hairstylist Francesco Fontana and makeup artist Cheryl Gushue had in mind. Studio Fontana is a new concept salon where fashion, photography, beauty, and hair will come together in one shared space.
Studio Fontana has 15 hair stations while sharing the space with a professional-grade photography studio. With a high level of consultation and expertise for your hair cut, color, and style, the full salon experience will be like no other. The huge, open concept style salon will allow clients to watch and be inspired by the creative fashion and photography talent who will occupy the space on a regular basis.

“Our intention is to lend the space to the city’s up-and-coming designers, photographers, models, make-up artists, wardrobe and hair stylists,” says owner Francesco Fontana. “They are welcome to use the studio for their creatives and in return the salon clients and staff will benefit from the inspiring atmosphere. “We feel that the energy that comes with cameras, models, lights and fashion professionals will be a very unique experience for everyone around.”

Studio Fontana will also be used for teaching small classes in cutting, styling, makeup artistry, and photography.
Award-winning make-up artist and global educator Cheryl Gushue is proud to join the Studio Fontana team to provide make-up services and lessons. As winner of the 2015 Mirror Awards Canadian Makeup Artist Of The Year, Cheryl brings a wealth of expertise and influence to Studio Fontana.

“There’s nothing quite like this one of a kind salon with a large-scale photography cove,” Gushue comments on the new concept. “Francesco’s passion for the creative industry and helping others to learn has produced an amazing space for artists to make connections, experiment with their craft and showcase their talents,”

My artistry readers, you’re going to LOVE this part:

No fees are charged for the creative talent looking to use the studio space, the only requirement being that it is used with good intention and a creative spirit.

How freakin’ awesome is that!? Studio Fontana offers their creative space for FREE!

Those interested in utilizing the space, and for those interested in visiting the salon for their personal hair care needs, can find out more by visiting studiofontana.ca
