Blog

While we are all doing our part to #StayHome and #FlattenTheCurve, I’ve put together a short list of some Social Distancing Self Care to help keep us busy and sane!

Meditate.
My friends over at Hoame go Live on Instagram every day at 10am, 2pm, and 8pm. This is a great way to relax, start our day, set good intentions, and relieve the stress we’re all feeling.

At Home Workouts.
The lovely Dayna from Groove Barre goes Live on Facebook at 9:30am but if you miss it, she saves + posts the videos on Facebook so you can use them whenever you feel like working out!

Perfect Your Winged Liner.
What better way to kill some time that perfect your winged liner or smokey eye technique? We’ll need these skills the moment we are allowed back out! Lol

DIY Beauty Treatments.
A mani/pedi always makes me feel better. I love when my fingers and toes are painted because they just look so much more delicate. Maybe you can give yourself a facial, or use a hair mask, too!

Train Your Hair.
love being able to wash my hair only once a week but it takes training! This is a great time to train your hair to become less oily. No-one but the loved ones we live with are seeing us so let your hair get greasy.

Start Retinol.
Retinol has amazing skin benefits for anti-aging and the production of collagen but sometimes our skin can react from it until we get used to it. For the two weeks, use it once a week. The third week, use it twice a week, and continue so on and so forth until you build your tolerance to it.

Try a New Recipe.
I’ve been doing a lot of baking and cooking to keep me busy and my family fed!

Catch Up On Sleep.
Inadequate sleep can make us feel more anxious and stressed but since sleep helps us fight off infection, it’s important to keep good sleep habits during COVID-19

Avoid Excessive Alcohol and Drugs.
There’s a few memes going around that we’re coming out of this as alcoholics. It’s not something to joke about. Alcohol and drugs aren’t good coping mechanisms for dealing with stress or anxiety. It actually makes things worse as you’re coming down, and even diminish your immune system.

I would love to know what you’re doing to keep busy! Leave a comment below!
