MY 2 CENTS
Neither lipstick nor lip gloss..A new kind of pout paint that goes on silky smooth and sets to a matte finish
These Lip Creams are available in 11 shades. I own Tokyo (soft peach) and Addis Ababa (hot pink) (pictured to the left).
I only get about half hour wear out of them before my lips start feeling and looking dry. After half hour, I either have to reapply the lip cream or use chapstick. Make sure your lips are exfoliated and soft because these lip creams tend to settle into the lines of your lips.
I prefer to wear these over a complementing lipstick. The product just works better for me that way.
They do have a slight, sweet odor. Some say it’s quite fouls, other say it’s pretty. I think it smells like vanilla!
If you’re not a fan of glosses or lipsticks, I really think you should try out one of these lip creams! They’re not exactly low maintenance but in just a few steps, this product could work for you:
- exfoliate your lips, using whichever method your prefer;
- apply a lip balm or Vaseline, and let it sit for about 10 minutes;
- apply your lip cream!
After these basic steps, the product shouldn’t dry out your lips or settle into your lip lines.
Tokyo is a very difficult shade to apply because it slips and slides all over the place and is quite streaky, while Addis Ababa doesn’t create these issues for me. It’s quite easy to apply and it’s not streaky at all. It sits nicely on my lips
I like that these lip creams are matte, have a nice color pay-off, and that the formula isn’t sticky.
What I don’t like is that I do find the lip creams drying, they’re kind of slippery and the application process for Tokyo is streaky.
I’m sitting on the fence with these lip creams and will have to test them out a few more times before I completely write them off.
How about you?
Have you tried NYX Lip Creams? Do you like them? Why or why not?
I’d love to read your input! Leave me a comment :)
