REVIEW: MAC Temperature Rising Golden Elixir Strobe Liquid and Nude on Board Bronzer
I know I`m late but I kept forgetting to take pictures of the products I bought from Temperature Rising. Better later that never, right!?
I went to MAC the Thursday this collection was released. I saw Temptalia`s swatches of the Golden Elixir Strobe Liquid and being a loyal user of the original Strobe Liquid, I had to get my hands on his little bronzed gem.
I`m a sucker for bronzed skin so I picked up the Nude on Board Pro Longwear Bronzer, too.
Golden Elixir Strobe Liquid is a shimmery bronze illuminator. The formula is quiet thin and a little wet, but blends and absorbs into the skin effortlessly.
A lot of brides this summer are looking for that bronzey glow so Golden Elixir has been my go-to to achieve that look. I either mix it into their foundation to warm up the skin or I add it to their cheeks bones to highlight. Golden Elixir can be used on it`s own, too, for an all over glow but it provides no coverage. As Temptalia mentions in her review, it can appear reflective on camera so use it with a light hand if you`re applying to clients, especially brides.
I`ve never tried MAC bronzers because I feel a lot of them are too orange or have orange properties to them. I don`t know about you, but I`m not interested in looking like Snookie circa 2010-2011, amiright!?
Nude on Board is a little different. It`s bronze but with yellow/tan undertones rather than orange and has a slight shimmer to it. This seems to suit my clients well: Asian, Caucasian, and my tanned/olive skinned European gals. Nude on Board is quite warm-toned.
The powder isn`t dusty in the pan and blends well into the skin. The formula is soft but definitely can be layered to build intensity.
