Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette is limited edition and contains 3 shades – 2 permanent, 1 limited edition – and a travel size of the Veil Primer. Dim Light and Radiant Light are part of Hourglass’s permanent collection while Incandescent Light is a new, limited edition shade.

MY 2 CENTS
My initial reaction upon opening the package, before even swatching, was “holy sh!t, these are beautiful powders!”. After swatching, my reaction was “OMG! I can’t wait to get this on my face”. Then I started playing around with the palette and realized that, although I don’t like the way it looks in indoor lighting,  in natural, outdoor lighting- WOW! The palette is really worth every dollar.
Each Ambient Lighting Powder, separately, is $52 CDN for 0.35oz. In this palette, the powder are significantly smaller (0.116oz) but all 3 powders = 0.35oz for only $67. The travel size Veil Primer is 0.16oz (full size is $60 for 1oz), as well. I think it’s quite a bargain!

LtoR: Dim Light, Incandescent Light, Radiant Light

Dim Light is a neutral-peach beige. It’s a light, warm beige with subtle sheen. It’s barely visible on my medium skin so I use this along my t-zone or even as a brow highlight.
Incandescent Light is a pale ivory shade with a shimmery finish. This looks gorgeous as a cheekbone highlight.
Radiant Light is a golden-beige powder and really warms up the skin. This has replaced my bronzer. If I layer enough of it, I can get away with using it as blush.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette is really beautiful and no picture is going to do it justice. You really just need to try it for yourself.

Ambient Lighting Powders are finishing powders. They’re not strictly highlighters or setting powders (actually, they’re  not setting powders at all!). Using photoluminescent technology, each powder does something different for your skin.
For example: Dim Light will blur imperfections, Incandescent Light will brighten your complexion, and Radiant Light will believably sun-kiss and enhance your skin tone.

Ambient Powders are free of talc, gluten, fragrance, parabens, and nanoparticles.

Shall we talk about the Veil Mineral Primer?

hourglass veil primerAmbient Lighting Palette is my first run with Hourglass and I’m really impressed. I even love this Veil Mineral Primer.
It feels light but smooth on the skin, leaving a satin finish in it’s wake. It’s said to absorb excess oils (which I could feel that it does), and minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines by evenly distributing light to soften skin imperfections.

Veil Mineral Powder is made with naturally derived titanium dioxide and zinc oxide rather than chemical sun-blocking agents. It’s gluten free, paraben free, fragrance free and is water resistant.

What are your thoughts on Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders? Are they worth the hype?

I picked this up during Sephora’s VIB sale and LOVE IT. My stores were originally sold out so I got the full size of Dim Light, but then they contacted me saying they got it in, so I exchanged Dim Light for this. Like you said, I use Dim Light along my t-zone, Radiant Light over my contour bronzer, and then Incandescent Light as my highlight. I was a bit skeptical about this as they are just powders, but I really do notice a difference. Like you said, I think this palette is worth every penny. A must!

I was totally skeptical, too. How amazing can powders really be? But I’m definitely thoroughly impressed with the Ambient Light Powders and I want to pick up more!

      Glad you love them, too

I’m incredibly obsessed with these powders. I’ve been trying to be a good blogger, so I haven’t touched this set yet since I need to take photos. I use radiant light all over my face as kind of a setting powder. I love how it photographs. Can’t wait to try the other two!

You need to try the other two!
Dim Light can be layered and used as a subtle blush, too.
Incandescent Light is probably one of my favourite highlighters.

Can’t wait for you to try it

Love! A must for my kit and clients. My students would love this, too- but I’ll let them play with my Maybelline Fit Me! Powders in class. You had me at talc free!;) xo
