MY 2 CENTS
Hey beauties!
I picked up this hair color form Jennifer over at Spiced Beauty who was looking for someone to write a review for the product. I saw her mention it on Twitter, so I took her up on the offer!
You can read my guest post HERE.

I’m not one to color my hair at home. I have a trusted stylist (Yang at YMF Hair Salon) who I’ve been going to for almost 10 years. That being said, my mother volunteered herself for the sake of this review. I hoped and prayed it turned out well- she’d kill me if I messed up her precious hair!

This coloring foam is enriched with triple fruit oils: avocado, olive, and shea. It’s said to nourish while coloring and I really believe that, keep reading!

It’s a no stress/no mess application process and extremely easy to use.

This coloring kit includes:

  • a liquid to foam developer (A)
  • a liquid to foam Colorant (B)
  • Avocado, Olive & Shea Oil Conditioner (C)
  • a Foaming Pump (D)
  • and PVC-free gloves (E)

Prepare your color like this:

  1. Pour the Colorant (B) into the Developer (A)
  2. Screw the Foaming Pump (D) onto the Developer (A)
  3. Rotate the bottle to mix it. Do NOT shake!

Now to color your hair:

  • Hair must be dry, detangled, and unwashed
  • Put on the PVC-free Gloves (E) and pump it in your hand until foam is dispensed
  • Starting with the roots, spread the foam throughout the hair working your way to the back of your head and through the lengths
  • Leave the color in for 25 minutes.

Before

Color fully applied over hair

Then wash your hair:

  • With the PVC-free gloves (E), rinse your hair until the water runs clear
  • Apply the Conditioner (C) all over your hair and leave it on for 2 minutes
  • Rinse your hair and towel dry. Style as usual

After

I was very surprised at how easy the foam is to use!
I like the pump better than the brush and mixing bowl application, because it’s less messy and easier to handle.

The other benefit is that in 25 short minutes, you have fully colored hair. Just a couple of weeks ago, I was at the salon for 3hrs coloring and cutting my hair! I sat under the blower for 45 minutes!!
Another pro about the Garnier Nutrisse Mousse is that it doesn’t stain your skin! You should have seen my mothers face during the application process, Brown was everywhere! But it came off with such ease. I didn’t need to use baby oil, or makeup remover, or any other product. The color came off just with water!

I really love the smell of the conditioner, it’s so delicious and left my mothers rather dry hair quite soft and silky. As I was rinsing my moms hair of the color, I could feel a difference in the texture of her hair. As far as I’m concerned, this coloring foam really nourishes the hair.

All in all, this was a very good experience. Mom isn’t one to dye her hair at home either, but now she’s asking me to use this foam on her roots when the time comes. We’ll see, Mom!

So beauties, tell me! Do you use at home box coloring? I’d love to hear stories, the good and the bad!
Talk to you soon :)

Hi!I really like how your hair color tunred out! I love this brand & I’ve been wanting to dye my hair red. I have a question, was your hair naturally dark or did it have a bright color? Because my hair is dark & I really hope, it comes out red though. But i don’t know if i should dye mine with a bright color such as brown or gold brown. I don’t want to bleach mine so i don’t know if you could suggest anything(:

      Hello!
I applied this on my moms hair. Her hair was dyed dark but had blonde highlights.
If you have virgin hair (meaning it’s never been dyed before) than it should come out red. But you should definitely consult with a hair dresser!
