MY 2 CENTS
I wanted a sea green type color so initially, I bought Avon Nail Wear Pro+ in Sea Breeze which ended up being too dark for my liking and more blue than I wanted it.

Browsing Pacific Mall, I found Turquoise & Caicos and fell in love! This polish is part of their Resort 2010 collection so it’s probably no longer available in most stores.

Essie describes Turquoise & Caicos as a “flirty and pretty tropical aqua” on their website.
I describe Turquoise & Caicos as a light turquoise, that leans more green than blue but resembles clear ocean water. It’s as light as Tiffany blue but more green.
The color is stunning and exactly what I was looking for for summer.

The formula is pretty terrible, which is surprising for an Essie nail polish. One coat, Turquoise & Caicos is quite sheer and very streaky. By coat #2, it’s more opaque but still kind of streaky. By the third coat of polish, Turquoise & Caicos is at full coverage and no longer streaky but a good top coat is required.
For a cream formula, I expected Turquoise & Caicos to be more opaque with less effort.

The dry time was no longer, or shorter than any other polish I’ve used. I’m just impatient and can’t sit still for 10 minutes so I use a quick drying top coat, in this case Essie Good to Go, and run my hands under ice cold water for a few minutes to freeze the polish.

Because I haven’t found an acceptable dupe to this gorgeous shade, I would totally buy this again. But if I happen to come across a dupe, I’d buy that one because of the crappy formula of Turquoise & Caicos.

What’s your favourite summer polish?
