REVIEW: Essie Mint Candy Apple Nail Polish

Essie Mint Candy Apple is a repromote for their Spring/Summer ’13 collection from the 2009 Essie Winter collection.

Mint Candy Apple is a bluish pistachio shade. It’s very fitting for winter and it worked perfectly with the pastel trends we saw this past spring and summer.

I tried my best to love Mint Candy Apple because of the shade is so beautiful but alas, I cannot get over the application and finish.
It’s streaky and kind of drags along the nail bed. Even after two coats, it’s not and opaque finish – you can see all the streaks. The formula is not very forgiving.

I really want to love this so if you have any tips on how to make it work, please share!

  1. Ah Essie. I love them but hate them for the reasons you mentioned. One that I have is SUPER streaky, so I end up using another brush that I bought on eBay to apply it. Another thing I found helped me to ensure that each coat was completely dry, but I mean who has time for that :T But I do like the colour on you~
