Beauty sample boxes seem to be the new craze and I jumped on the bandwagon.
There are so many different companies (Birchbox, Glossybox, Glymm, Loosebutton) who offer this service, roughly in the same price range.
Glymm Box is $10 CDN + free shipping (available in Canada & US)
Loose Button is $12 CDN + free shipping (only available in Canada)
Birchbox is $10 USD + free shipping (only available in the US)
Glossybox is £10 + p&p (only available in the UK)
Out of the two that shipped to Canada, I decided to give Luxe Box by Loose Button a shot. I’ve heard good things and as I watched them interact with their clients, my decision became more clear.
We’ll start with the basics.
A Luxe Box is a monthly subscription that delivers (in a cute/chic, personalized box) 4-5 beauty samples through Canada Post. Samples range from skincare to makeup to body and haircare. The great thing about these samples is that they’re travel sized so you can really test the product out.
Loose Button also has a beauty profile to create a Luxe Box that is catered to your needs/wants/likes.
Though, unlike Glymm, Loose Button does not sell full-size products of their samples but with a quick email to the Loose Button team, they can tell you where you can purchase the full-size product.
Inside each Luxe Box, there will be a card (addressed to you, specifically) with the product descriptions, tips, and the retail value of each sample in your box.
There are 3 subscriptions to choose from. Monthly ($12), Quarterly ($36, every 3 months), and Yearly ($120). Your subscription is automatically renewed based on the plan you choose.
Your credit card is automatically charged but the beauty of this subscription is that you can cancel at any time without any cancellation fees.
In the October edition of Luxe Box, I received:
- an exclusive look at Lise Watier’s Flash Lift Radiance Vial
Instand radiance, literally! It brightens up your skin within seconds. The vials are pretty small, though (1ml) but for $27 you get 7 vials. Each vial should last you 2-3 uses. - Moroccan Oil Light
I love Moroccan Oil! This one here is for light/fine hair, I have neither but I’m still using it. It hasn’t affected my hair any other than enhance it’s soft/silkiness! - City Lips Collagen Peptide Lip Plumping Treatment
Surprisingly, there was no tingle like with other lip plumpers. I noticed a slight plumping but nothing major but then again, my lips are pretty full on their own. - Olay Professional Pro-X Eye Restoration Complex
- Chloe Eau De Parfume
This perfume smells absolute amazing! It’s romantic with a touch of floral. I can’t get enough of it’s scent! For $90, you can pick up a 50ml bottle. - $25 off a $75 purchase at Dealuxe
Some of the stuff over at Dealuxe is a little out of my price range but with this $25 off coupon, I’ll definitely be making a small purchase!
