A couple of weeks ago, I went to the Unionville Farmer’s Market (which is every Summer Sunday!) where I came across a company called Love and Lather. Their soap and bath products are free of harsh chemicals and consist of nourishing oils and butters. Their soap is hand-made, detergent-and-preservative- free, cruelty-and-phthalate-free
After sniffing around for a little while (literally), I decided on this deep reddish-brown, brick of a soap(it weighs about 4-4.5oz) called Sexy Siesta.
I swear this soap will last me months- it’s really big!
Sexy Siesta is made of: Saponified Oils of Palm, Coconut, Olive, Distilled Water, Avocado Oil, Australian Red Reef Clay, Lime Essential Oil, and Dead Sea Salt (which acts as a gentle exfoliant)
I love the way Sexy Siesta lathers. It’s not too soapy, and definitely not oily. The scent isn’t strong but you can smell it while washing. There is no soap-like or dry residue and never have my hands felt softer.
You can purchase any of the 8 Love and Lather soaps along with bath salts on ETSY
My other discovery came from my trip to 1000 Islands. I was browsing their Main St. and stumbled upon the 1000 Islands Soap Company. They sell hand-made soaps, oils, butters, and other specialty products (including natural deodorants and baby products!)
I bought a generous size (although slight smaller than Sexy Siesta) called Mango Papaya because… well… that’s what it smells like! It’s absolutely heavenly. Every time I take a shower, I feel like I’m in the Tropics.
I also got a soap pouch. It’s an exfoliating pouch that you put your soap in, pull the cords close, and start washing away.
The pouch is a slightly rougher than a Luffa but lathers up the soap so much better than your average Luffa.
You beauties are in luck because 1000 Island Soap Co. also has an online store. You can visit that HERE
