Available November 2014 until January 2015
Inspired by Aurora Borealis, a natural phenomenon that bathes the sky in beautiful, sweeping colors. This collection captures that spectacle in these luminous, shimmering products
The limited edition Aurora Eyeshadow Palette ($43 CDN) contains 6 shades, ranging from semi-matte finish to iridescent finish, in Lise Watier’s popular cream-to-powder formula. Lise Watier’s Makeup Artist David Vincent suggests using these shades as duos for beginner makeup enthusiasts: taupe and ivory, pink-mauve and violet, midnight blue and gold.
For a more intense, bold look, apply the eyeshadow with your finger or a sponge tip applicator, hold it in place for a moment, then blend with a brush. This allows the eyeshadow to warm up for a better, more intense color payoff.
The limited edition Aurora Iridescent Eyeliner ($22 CDN) is one of my favourite products in this collection. This precision applicator is 1mm wide and flexible, made with bristles – not felt! It can be worn alone or on top of another eyeliner. I learned from Makeup Artist David Vincent to shake the tube for a more intense, rich color.
I found the Aurora Celestial Light Powder ($36 CDN) to be a versatile product with it’s blend of iridescent rose, brown, and gold tones. The powder is baked and can be worn by a variety of skin tones from fair to medium-tan, and all skin types, even mature skin. There is no chunky glitter in this beauty that will settle into any fine lines or wrinkles. Get your hands on this soon, as it’s limited edition!
The Haute Lumiere High Shine Lipgloss in Aurora ($23 CDN) is a limited edition shade and is the Pantone Color of the Year – Radiant Orchid. I really like Lise Watier’s gloss formulas. They’re non-sticky, smooth, and comfortable to wear. It even has an LED light in the lid and it’s own mirror on the tube.
The Rouge Fondant Supreme Lipstick ($24 CDN) will be released as part of the regular product line, along with 4 other shades (for a total of 16). It’s a cross between lipgloss and balm – shiny and hydrating like a lip balm but long-lasting and a medium-to-full coverage like a lipstick. I like to say this one is named after me ;)
The Smoky Kohl Velours in Indigo ($20) is highly pigmented, creamy, matte, and waterproof. No tugging on the eye to get this beautiful color on! Makeup Artist David Vincent even said that this color will brighten up the whites of your eyes, if applied to the lower waterline.
You will always fine Eyeshine Eyeliners ($20 CDN) in my professional makeup kit. They smooth, soft, and creamy with a metallic finish that accentuates every eye and can even be used as a base on the lids.
What do you think of this new Lise Watier Aurora Collection for Winter 2014? It’s just stunning to me!
