Kabuki Brushes should be an essential tool in everyone’s personal makeup kit.
These brushes are short, with rounds tips, made with soft fibers. Kabuki Brushes originated in Japan and were used for contouring.
As you can see from the picture above, they come in many difference sizes. I prefer Kabuki Brushes that are retractable so I could keep it in my purse.
Why should you own a Kabuki, you ask?
Let me break it down for you:
- You know that mineral blush that you love but is just a hassle to apply? This brush is dense enough to pick up that loose powder and distribute the right amount of pigment along your gorgeous cheeks!
- On the topic of loose powders, a Kabuki can be used to set your foundation with translucent powder.
- Want to maintain a super sexy tan throughout the winter months? Because the Kabuki is perfect for contouring, they’re great to use with bronzers. A bronzer will look more natural when applied with a Kabuki brush.
- Did you get ready in dim light and realize that your makeup isn’t blended once you’re out in public? If you had a retractable Kabuki Brush in your purse, this would be a quick fix.
I love my Kabuki because it’s the only brush dense enough to pick up my loose powders, because it makes blending easy, and because sometimes my blush wears off during the day or becomes splotchy and the Kabuki fixes that in just a few blunt strokes.
