This TAG is almost a year old, but I just start writing TAG posts. I’m sorry I’m late! :P

I found this tag on Bella Glam Brunette.
Let’s get started!

  1. How old were you when you started wearing makeup?
I’ve definitely shared this embarrassing moment with you for THIS poll. So to reiterate, I started wearing makeup in & around the 7th and 8th grade. I used to wear foundation that was way too light, with no bronzer or blush. I just looked really pale. I also wore heavy black eyeliner, on my upper and lower waterline. It was a disaster.
  2. How did you get into makeup?
I’ve always worn makeup. Throughout the years, it evolved into a talent. I really started getting into makeup a couple years ago when my BFF introduced me to the Make Up Geek website. That’s when I decided to turn this into a career.
  3. What are some of your favourite brands?
I used a variety of brands for different things. I like Urban Decay and Sleek Make Up for their eyeshadows, I like MAC for their lipsticks, I like Benefit for their blushes, I like Lancome for their liquid foundation, I like NYX for their lip gloss… Just to name a few.
  4. What does makeup mean to you?
Without getting too deep and lengthy, makeup is an art that enhances every woman’s natural and beautiful features. It’s a creative outlet. It’s a form of confidence. It can make or break your brides day. It can make a mother of young children feel great about herself, even for just one night.
  5. If you could only wear 4 products on your face, what would they be?
a BB cream, a blush, mascara, and a lip product such as a lipstick, lip gloss, or balm.
  6. What is your favourite thing about makeup?
I love anything that is highly pigmented. Eyeshadow, lip stick, blush, etc. It just makes one look so much more vibrant and alive, rather than dull and washed out.
  7. What do you think about drugstore makeup vs. high end makeup?
I think if you can afford the higher end products, go for it. If not, there are a lot of cheaper alternatives/dupes for the higher end makeup. One thing I will not buy at a drugstore is foundation because they do not offer testers.
  8. What is one tip of advice you can give to a beginner?
Wear the right shade of foundation for your skin tone. You can use this post as a guide to determine your undertone and skin tone. As long as your foundation looks natural, the rest of your face will come together nicely.
  9. What do you think about the beauty community on Youtube?
I can’t say much about the “community” aspect of it because while I do watch videos, I don’t usually participate in the comment conversations. Although, some people are just down right RUDE. I do actively watch a few different channels that I find helpful and because of their creativity. For example, QueenOfBlending is insanely talented. Her videos are basic but her looks are incredible. I watch MakeUpGeek because Marlena and her staff are very helpful, friendly, down to earth, and just fun to watch. Their videos are very professional.
  10. What is one makeup trend you’ve never understood?
Spider lashes. Why anyone want their eyelashes to look thick and clumpy is beyond me.
