The holiday season is upon and what better way to celebrate than with GLITTER! I love glitter but only tend to wear it during this time.
Loose glitter looks a little intimidating but I promise it’s easy to use- it’s messy but easy!
STEP ONE
Gather your products and something to catch the mess.
I’m using an Avon base coat, Essie Licorice, and Essie Good to Go top coat. The glitter is Avon Iridescent.
I’m using a Bristol board and Kleenex to keep things tidy. Glitter gets messy!
STEP TWO
Paint your base coat on each of your nails.
STEP THREE
Dip your ring finger into the glitter. I like the ring finger to be an accent nail. Through out this process, I’m using Kleenex to clean up the excess glitter around my finger.
STEP FOUR
One coat isn’t enough. I put the base coat over the glitter on my nail and dipped my finger in the glitter pot again. Two coats is perfect. It’s a little chunky so carefully pat it down with your finger. Clean up around the finger with Kleenex again.
STEP FIVE
Paint your color of choice on each of the other nails. I put on two coats of Essie Licorice and waited until it the final coat was completely dry.
You can stop here or continue on to step six. I really don’t like how the glitter tips turned out. The design is cute but the glitter shows up kind of green over black nails- that’s what I don’t like.
STEP SIX
Apply your top coat to the tips of your nail (like a clear french manicure) one finger at a time. Dip into the glitter once, apply top coat over the whole nail, and move on to the next finger.
As I mentioned earlier, I probably would have like this look a lot better if the I used a different kind of glitter or a different nail polish. In this case, the Iridescent glitter shows up green over black nail polish.
