We all have these moments: You’re running errands looking like a total troll and spot someone you shouldn’t be running into…an ex, your boss, the girl your boyfriend cheated on you with… so you duck into the nearest Ladies Room or corner to tidy yourself up, only to discover that nothing in that big, Boho purse of yours is going to help you.

Well, now I’m here to help!

Here is a short list of things you should always carry in your purse to avoid looking like a train wreck in front of those not so important people:

  1. Blotting papers! It’s summer, it’s hot, it’s humid, so naturally your face will get a little oily. These will remove excess oil and leave you with a shine free face. I use *mark Cheat Sheet Shine-Blotters because they’re bigger than your average blotting paper and really absorbent.
*I think these have been discontinued. If you have any other blotters you recommend, leave it in the comments!
  2. Concealer! It’s a quick way to camouflage dark circles, red spots,  and any other imperfections. Get one that works well as a highlighter and instantly brighten up your eyes! Try YSL Touche Eclat.
  3. A blush stick! These are so convenient. Add a subtle wash of color to your cheeks, lips, and eyes. Nothing will pull you more together than a blush stick. I use Revolution Organics Freedom Glow Beauty Balm
  4. Hair ties! If your hair’s a mess, pull it up into a quick ponytail or bun to look more presentable.
  5. Travel-sized body spray! Just in case you smell like last nights cigarettes….
  6. Gum! To freshen up your coffee breath.

What do you carry in your emergency kit? Is there anything you feel should be added to this list? Leave me a comment!

I also carry adhesive bandages in my purse for those random paper cuts. ;)

I always have to carry Rosebud Salve, it’s the solution to any problem.

I know I’m late to the party, but I have to say – I always carry a bold lipstick or stain. If I’m not wearing any makeup, I can throw on my sunglasses (or my actual prescription glasses – I got statement frames for a reason!) with some bright lips, and look done-up in seconds.
