I somehow signed up for a free Ipsy Glam Bag earlier this month. I filled out an online profile and they curated 5 product samples, based on my responses, to send me. I’m familiar with other beauty subscription boxes but this is my first time trying Ipsy. I’m not disappointed by any means but beauty subscription services are just not for me so I did unsubscribe after I received this free one. Oops!
Here’s what I got in Ipsy’s pool-ready July 2018 Glam Bag:
- Luscious Cosmetics Face Contour Kit. I used this on a client and quite enjoyed it. The contour powder is easy enough to blend and the highlighter is actually gorgeous.
- La Beaute Fatale Lipstick in Vibrate. I actually dislike magenta on me but it wore quite comfortably and was super smooth upon application. It also has this really nice sheen\gloss finish.
- Smashbox Studio Skin 24hr Waterproof Concealer. Although I wish the shade I received was just one shade lighter, this wears really well and without creasing.
- Mint Pear Rosehip Night Serum. Lots of great organic oils in this serum. Feels nice and smooth on the skin and makes me look glowy!
- H2o+ Beauty Ultra Hydrating Cream. I’m dry 2/4 seasons a year. Summer because of the sun and winter because of the cold so I’m curious as to how this will make my skin feel, longterm. It has quite the luxurious texture and my skin drinks it up. Liking it so far!
I’m not entirely sure the exact value of this bag but La Beaute Fatale is $28 and Smashbox Studio Skin Concealer is $29 so those two items alone more than cover the cost of $10/month Ipsy Glam Bag.
I might be inclined to resubscribe to Ipsy, if you can convince me! Are beauty subscriptions worth it in your mind? Do you enjoy receiving them? Would love to hear your thoughts!

I actually really like the ipsy subscription. I think it’s always been fun and a great value. However, I haven’t subscribed in a couple years just due to maternity leave and cutting my spending. I will be back to it soon for sure.
