I am so thankful that COVERGIRL sent me over these lovely products. It’s really sparked up my interest in makeup again.
Being a Bridal Makeup Artist, you sometimes get into a lull. Most Bridal looks are clean, elegant, and simple. As much as I love being a part of a Bride’s special day, I long for a bit more creativity which is why I sometimes set up creative photoshoots and create fun looks on myself.

Enter COVERGIRL.

Four new eyeshadow palettes. Four new blush, highlight, and contour palettes. Four new primers.

Let’s start with the primers. I misplaced the Colour Neutralizing Primer so it is not pictured below but I will review it anyway!

The COVERGIRL TruBlend Skin Smoothing Primer is your average clear primer that smooths out pores and fine lines. This primer is weightless and long lasting.I wore it under COVERGIRL TruBlend Matte Made foundation and my makeup did not budge all day and night, including a workout in between. I used it as a primer for the eyeshadows too and they did not crease. Most of the eyeshadow palettes wear well on their own but the Skin Smoothing Primer made colours appear more vibrant for longer.

The COVERGIRL TruBlend Illuminating Primer is gorgeous. You can wear it alone and mixed into your foundation. It makes my skin look radiant.

The COVERGIRL TruBlend Pore Minimizing Primer reduces pores and leaves your skin looking matte. I’m not a matte skin kinda girl but if that’s your thing, this primer does the trick.

The one note pictured is the COVERGIRL TruBlend Colour Neutralizing Primer. It’s green and is used to reduce redness. I actually really like this one because it helped reduce the redness around my nose and chin, and blended in with my foundation nicely.

The new COVERGIRL TruBlend Base Business Primers are $8.44USD and can be found at Walmart and Target.

Next up is the four new highlighting, contour, and blush palettes. There are two Serving Sculpt palettes and two Super Stunner palettes.

COVERGIRL TruBlend Serving Sculpt Palette in Rose Nights is my least favourite of the four. The pink is not cute on my skin and the contour shade appears too orange. The package says its for medium to deep skin tones, which is my tone, but they just don’t complement me at all. The highlight is quite nice and I would use it as a brow bone highlight. It’s a cream colour with yellowish flecks of sparkle that was really hard to capture on camera.

COVERGIRL TruBlend Serving Sculpt Palette in Bloom Babe is more my jam, even though the package says it’s for fair and light skin tones. I love the warmth of this palette The contour shade works better for me and doesn’t appear muddy and the light peach highlight looks great layered over peach blush.

These next two palettes are highlighting palettes that I absolutely love

COVERGIRL TruBlend Super Stunner Palette in It’s Lit is a beautiful highlight palette that looks great on fair or light skin. The shades are super blendable and can be used subtly for the day or amp’d up for night time.
The three shades of highlight range from a soft yellow to a subtle pink to a light rose.

COVERGIRL TruBlend Super Stunner Palette in Glowing Up works well with medium to deep skin tones. I LOVE THIS PALETTE. Not only is it super blendable but the warmth of it gives me the fuzzy feels. The bronze highlight on the far right is incredible on top of my bronzer. You can keep things natural with the light beige shade on the left or spice things up with the gold or bronze highlight. This one is my favourite!

COVERGIRL Serving Sculpt and Super Stunner Palettes are $9.98 USD and can be found at Target and Walmart

Last but not least, the four new eyeshadow palettes.

COVERGIRL TruNaked Peach Punch Eyeshadow Palette can be applied wet or dry and can create looks from natural to smoky to dramatic. It’s a really pretty, versatile palette. The shades wear well with or without primer, with minimal creasing and fading.

Above is the look I created using Peach Punch, the Pore Minimzing primer, Serving Sculpt Palette in Rose Nights, and Katy Kat Lipstick in Coral Cat.

Do you see what I mean about the Rose Nights palette? I just feel like it doesn’t complement my skin tone well!

COVERGIRL TruNaked Chocoholic Eyeshadow Palette is another beautiful palette that can be worn wet or dry. The shadows wear well with minimal creasing and fading. I didn’t wear an eyeshadow primer and they still lasted the entire day.

I wore this look to Thanksgiving. I mixed the Illuminating Skin Primer into my MAC Face & Body foundation and I highlighted with the Glowing Up palette. See how beautiful and warm it is? I’m not wearing blush in this photo – just bronzer and Glowing Up (the bronze shade). On my lips is Katy Kat Matte in Sphynx.

COVERGIRL TruNaked Sunsets Eyeshadow Palette is such a gorgeous fall palette. I love the shades and the versatility of the looks I can create. These also can be applied wet or dry. Again, wore these without a primer and it wore with no problems!

The Sunsets Palette was my favourite to use. I love the look and how pigmented these shadows are. I used the Skin Smoothing Primer on my all over my face, the Colour Neutralizing Primer around my nose and chin to reduce redness, Matte Made Foundation, Serving Sculpt Palette in Bloom Babe, and a Katy Kat Lipstick in Catoure.

COVERGIRL TruNaked Dazed Eyeshadow Palette is fun to use and quite vibrant but the staying power wasn’t the greatest. At about four hours the shades started to faded, without primer, but the good news is they didn’t crease!

In this look, I’m wearing Dazed, along with Serving Sculpt in It’s Lit, and Katy Kat lipstick in Cosmo Kitty.
Although this palette was the most fun to play with because I really got to use my creativity, I just wish it lasted longer.
I love eyeshadows that I can wear with ease, with minimal fading and creasing, because I rarely wear primers. I’m willing to try a different look with this palette while using an eyeshadow primer to see how long it lasts.

The COVERGIRL TruNaked palettes are $9.98 USD and available at Target and Walmart.

Overall, COVERGIRL has killed it the drugstore beauty game with these products. They’re incredibly affordable and really great quality.
