KiiPix is your Smartphone Picture Printer. After a small learning curve, It’s actually quite easy to use, convenient, and portable!
Before starting, insert your FUJIFILM instax mini film, then unfold the KiiPix
Place your phone on top, with the photo that you want to print on the screen. Push down the button at the bottom center of the KiiPix to snap the photo, then turn the crank to print the photo!
No batteries or WiFi required!
As easy as KiiPix is to use, there was a bit of a learning curve for me.
For instance, I put the film in incorrectly thus nothing was printing. Yellow side UP is what I learned! lol
Then, the brightness on my screen was too high and the photo came out super over exposed.
The second photo I took turned out the best but still a little overexposed. The third photo I loved except I cut out my friends face – oops!
Then we tried we her phone because her screen is smaller than mine.
The first photo we tried to print with her phone turned out too dark, her brightness wasn’t up high enough so we turned up the brightness a bit and printed off the second photo and voila! It didn’t turn out half bad.
Here is a photo montage of our fails and successes using KiiPix:
The images are printed out credit card sized so they’re great for your wallet, fridge, or photo display hung by cord/rope.
Overall, KiiPix is clever, cute, and fun. Like a traditional Polaroid/instant camera, you’re not really sure how it’s going to look when printed but I love the idea that I can edit the photo how I want then print it, Polaroid style.
Have you tried KiiPix or something similar? I’d love to read your thoughts about instant cameras or smartphone photo printers! Leave a comment below
